West Norfolk Swimmers Dominate at Boudica Long Course Meet
West Norfolk Swimming Club (WNSC) delivered a commanding performance at the Boudica Long Course Meet, co-hosted with Norwich Swans SC at the UEA Sportspark on 21–22 June. The club’s swimmers amassed an impressive 210 medals, with every age group contributing to the medal haul.
In the 10–11 Years age category Jack Baxter led the charge with four 1st place finishes (50m & 100m Butterfly, 50m & 100m Backstroke), three 2nd places (50m & 200m Breaststroke, 200m IM), and a 3rd in the 100m Breaststroke. Oscar Tunnicliff earned bronze in the 200m Breaststroke and 100m Butterfly. Martha More dominated with seven golds, including the 200m Freestyle and 400m IM, plus two silvers and a 4th place. Mabelle Chadderton added three golds and two silvers to her name. Maya Marcinek took gold in the 100m Butterfly and silver in the 100m Breaststroke. Ellie Kitt won the 200m Backstroke and placed 3rd in the 200m Freestyle. Lily Nell earned two bronzes, while Emma Wilson took 3rd in the 100m Butterfly. Morgan Arthur secured silver in the 200m Breaststroke and three bronzes. Other strong contributors included Charlie Bradford, Joseph Cook, Anwen Jones, Charlotte Wells, Ella Dickens, and Scarlett Smith.
Equally, the 12 Year old swimmers, stood out with Elizabeth Litvinenko taking gold in the 100m Butterfly, three silvers, and four bronzes. Valeria Soldatihhina claimed four golds and a bronze. Den Vojevoda, Alexandra Cerps, Amelia Rodgers, Harriet Wells, Jacob Hicks, Race Elmer, Frances Hurst, Indi Goldsmith, and Lacey Waterson all delivered top 10 finishes and personal best times.
Harry Clarke, aged 13, swept up seven golds, including the 400m IM, and added three silvers. Other 13-year-olds including, Polly Anderson earned three golds, two silvers, and a bronze. Noah Goodson took two golds, two silvers, and two bronzes. Nikita Diadko won two golds, two silvers, and two bronzes. Junru Cai added two golds, a silver, and a bronze. Luke Wilson won the 200m Butterfly, and Freddie Wakefield earned bronze in the 200m Backstroke. Nellie Chadderton secured three silvers and a bronze. Milana Melinyte, Lexi Foster, Alma Pattison, Isabelle Morris, and Regan Redman also impressed.
In the 14 to 15 year old age category, Rejus Mazeika was a standout with seven golds across all strokes. Olivia Bradford dazzled with three golds and five silvers. Teddy Roberts added two golds and a silver. Samuel Liddell earned two silvers and a bronze, while Adam Jackson took gold in the 100m Backstroke and bronze in the 400m Freestyle. Belle Ringwood won the 200m Backstroke and added silver and bronze medals. Arabella Bishop, Andrej Taplin, Kirill Ivanenco, Madison Hicks, and Ruby Baxter were also all decorated with medals and took top three places across some of their events.
The 16 years+ swimmers also impressed, led by Jamie Wilson with five golds and two silvers. Millie Harris swept her events with four golds. Erin Woodrow won all three Backstroke events. Thomas Baxter earned four golds and two silvers. Joshua Jones took two golds and two silvers. Harvey Isle, Samuel Rose, Zoe Wilson, Daisy Stimpson, Olivia Haddock, Thomas-Arthur Jagger, and Sarah O'Brien all contributed with multiple podium finishes.
