WNSC Hauls 50 + Medals at County Challenge Gala

West Norfolk Swim Club Celebrates Over 50 Medals at County Challenge Gala

West Norfolk Swim Club delivered a commanding performance at the County Challenge gala held over the weekend of 28th and 29th June, returning home with an impressive haul of over 50 medals. Swimmers across all age groups and strokes showcased their talent, determination, and team spirit, with podium finishes in nearly every event category.

In the Open Male category, David Roczniak was a standout, claiming gold in the 100m Freestyle, 50m, 100m, and 200m Butterfly, and 100m Backstroke. He also secured silver in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke. Leo Harrington earned silver in the 50m and 100m Freestyle, and gold in the 100m Backstroke and 100m Individual Medley. Charlie Bradford took bronze in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Breaststroke, silver in the 200m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke, and silver in the 100m Individual Medley. Andrej Taplin won gold in the 200m Freestyle, while Bay Smith earned silver in the 100m and 200m Breaststroke, 50m Backstroke, and 200m Individual Medley. Luke Wilson added bronze in the 100m Freestyle and 200m Individual Medley.

Among the female swimmers, Maya Marcinek led the way with gold in the 50m Freestyle, 50m and 100m Butterfly, silver in the 200m Individual Medley, and bronze in the 100m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke. Kari-Ella Bailey secured gold in the 100m and 200m Freestyle, silver in the 50m and 100m Backstroke, and bronze in the 50m Backstroke. Calleigh Welham-Smith earned gold in the 100m Breaststroke and 100m Butterfly, silver in the 200m Butterfly, and bronze in the 50m Freestyle. Arabella Bishop claimed gold in the 100m and 50m Backstroke and 200m Breaststroke, silver in the 200m Backstroke, and bronze in the 100m and 50m Breaststroke.

Poppy Peebles impressed with gold in the 200m Freestyle, silver in the 50m Breaststroke, and bronze in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly. Scarlett Smith won gold in the 100m Butterfly and 100m Individual Medley, and silver in the 200m Backstroke. Ella Dickens took gold in the 200m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly. Emma Wilson earned gold in the 100m and 200m Butterfly and 100m Backstroke, and bronze in the 100m Freestyle.

Other medal-winning performances included Lexi Foster with bronze in the 50m Freestyle, 100m Breaststroke, and 200m Individual Medley; Alexandra Cerps with silver in the 200m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke, and bronze in the 50m Freestyle; Isabelle Morris with bronze in the 50m Breaststroke; Daisy Covell with bronze in the 50m Backstroke; Ellie Kitt with bronze in the 50m Butterfly; Anwen Jones with bronze in the 50m Breaststroke; Amelia Rodgers with bronze in the 100m Butterfly; and Milana Melinyte with silver in the 100m Butterfly.

The club also celebrated the efforts of all swimmers who contributed to a weekend of personal bests and team success. With over 50 medals earned, West Norfolk Swim Club continues to build on its reputation for developing talented young swimmers.
