West Norfolk Deliver Medal-packed County Championships
West Norfolk swimmers enjoyed an outstanding Swim England Norfolk County Championships, delivering a medal‑packed performance across three demanding weekends of competition.
In total, more than 80 West Norfolk swimmers qualified for county events, ranging in age from just nine years old through to Senior Masters, underlining the strength, depth and inclusivity of the club. Qualification alone placed swimmers among the best in Norfolk, with many converting their opportunities into podium finishes.
Across the championships, West Norfolk swimmers recorded an impressive 158 podium finishes, including 50 gold, 62 silver and 46 bronze medals, highlighting the scale of success achieved across all strokes and distances.
Standout performances came from swimmers including Alexander Pattison, Mabelle Chadderton and Valeria Soldatihhina, all of whom secured multiple medals across a wide range of events. Distance races were a particular strength, with strong podium performances from Jamie Wilson, Noah Goodson, Kye Harrington, Elizabeth Litvinenko and Olivia Bradford in the demanding 800m and 1500m freestyle events.
Top swimmer awards
West Norfolk’s success was further recognised through the Top Swimmer awards. In the 12‑year‑old girls’ category, the club completed a clean sweep, with Mabelle Chadderton taking first place, Martha More second, and Morgan Arthur third. Valeria Soldatihhina claimed top swimmer in the 13‑year‑old girls’ category, while Harry Clarke finished third in the 14‑year‑old boys rankings. Olivia Bradford secured third place in the 15‑year‑old girls’ category.
At senior level, Alexander Pattison finished second top 16‑year‑old boy, while Jamie Wilson and Josh Jones placed second and third respectively in the over‑17 boys’ category. Erin Woodrow added another accolade with third place in the over‑17 girls’ category.

In addition to the award winners, medals were won by swimmers including Belle Ringwood, Betsy Chadderton, Daniel Grimmer, David Roczniak, Elizabeth Litvinenko, Ellie Kitt, Jack Baxter, Joshua Jones, Junru Cai, Kirill Ivanenco, Kye Harrington, Martha More, Millie Harris, Morgan Arthur, Nathan Yeaman, Nellie Chadderton, Nikita Diadko, Noah Goodson, Oliver Norris, Oliver Veale, Polly Anderson, Rejus Mazeika, Ruby Baxter, Samuel Liddell, Sarah O’Brien, Theo Ryan, Thomas Baxter and Thomas Garnett, reflecting the depth of talent throughout the club.
Relay gala finale!
To conclude an exciting championships, West Norfolk entered two teams into the Norfolk County Relay Gala. West Norfolk A produced a strong team performance to finish a close second, while West Norfolk B delivered a determined and spirited display to secure a proud sixth‑place finish, rounding off a memorable county campaign.
With success spread across junior, age‑group and senior swimmers, the Swim England Norfolk County Championships marked a proud milestone for West Norfolk swimming and provided a strong platform to build on for the remainder of the season.
