Anglia League Round 1

West Norfolk Swimming Club continue their busy season with a team of 15 competing in round 1 of the Anglian League, hosted by Wisbech Swimming Club. Strong competition was encountered from Fenland Flyers, Thetford Dolphins and Wisbech. On this occasion several West Norfolk swimmers were having their first taste of league competition, complemented by some of the Club’s most experienced members.

The whole team displayed their usual determination and support for each other, whilst producing a number of personal best times. Individual wins on the night were not great in number, coming from Boys Team Captain, Ryan Sykes( Open  100m I/M and 50m freestyle) and Samuel Chandler( Open 50m back stroke). Warranting special mention was Matthew Dobbing with a superb 20 second pb in the 200m I/M and 2nd place in 100m backstroke. Jemma Jarvis came 2nd in the 100m back stroke in her first league gala, with Lauryn Hammond swimming 100m fly for the first time also putting in a brave performance. Luke Bryan swam his customary 100m fly to just be pipped into 2nd place.

Thanks as always to our Coach, poolside helpers, and loyal parents for support.
