JFL Round 3 June 2016

West Norfolk hosted round 3 of the Junior Fenland League at Downham Market last Saturday evening, welcoming teams from Deepings, March, Mildenhall and Peterborough.

A busy schedule of events ensured a lively evening of swimming, under the watchful eyes of referees Stewart Murray and Chris Sykes.  Team Manager Ryan Sykes encouraged his young team of swimmers to produce some encouraging results and gain valuable competitive experience.

Harvey Isle took two individual wins in the 12/under 100m I/M and 11/under 50m breast.  Matthew Hawkes had a strong swim to take first place in the 11/under 50m free.  Alfie Holman gained maximum points from his 13/under 50m free event with a very determined swim.  For the girls Kiera Clarke was victorious in her 12/under 50m breast race.

Kayleigh Rudd had a very busy evening swimming in four individual events, taking three second places all in incredibly close finishes.  Liam Robbins was also in fine form taking two second places out of two swims in the 10/under 50m breast and 50m free.

Many thanks to all the officials and helpers who ensured the event ran smoothly, along with the staff at Downham Leisure Centre.  Special thanks to Harry Sharpe and Chloe Liddell for their tireless refreshment distribution on a very humid evening.
