West Norfolk Swimming Club's younger swimmers have been busy competing again recently, in the latest rounds of the Junior Fenland League, and Norfolk Junior League. Team Manager, Samuel Chandler, lead a young but experienced team to Dereham for the NJL. Strong opposition came in the shape of teams from Dereham, Great Yarmouth, North Norfolk Vikings and UEA Norwich. West Norfolk were all in excellent form and enjoying the competition as usual. Due to the quality of the oppostion, individual wins were hard to come by on the night. However,Jake Lammas and Jenny Read were both victorious in the 50 metres freestyle. Many other swimmers swam personal best times and collected numerous points for good placings.
Chris Sykes lead a young team to Peterborough to compete in round 2 of the Junior Fenland League.Opposition here came from Ely, March and Peterborough. Many swimmers had their first taste of league competition, which can be a daunting experience. Chris was quick to praise all her swimmers on the night for their competitive spirit and excellent times achieved. Daniel Ord(9) gained a well deserved 1st place in the 50m free and 2nd in 50m back. Other 2nd placings went to Alfie Randall, Sam Randall, and Kirsten Williams.
Both Samuel and Chris thanked their poolside helpers and travelling supporters, without whom these events would not be possible.
